When worry starts taking up too much space
Recognise common signs of anxiety and explore small, grounded steps towards support.

Understanding worry
Worry is a normal response to uncertainty. When it becomes hard to switch off, affects sleep or keeps you from everyday activities, it may be worth speaking with a mental health professional. An article cannot diagnose anxiety, and similar symptoms can have other causes.
A small place to begin
Pause and notice your surroundings. Feel your feet on the floor, look around the room, and name a few things you can see. If comfortable, let your breathing settle naturally without forcing deep breaths.
Notice patterns, without judging yourself
Write down when worry shows up, what was happening, and what helped even a little. Consistent sleep routines, regular meals and manageable movement may support wellbeing. These are not a replacement for care.
When to reach out
If worry persists or disrupts work, relationships or daily life, arrange an appointment to discuss it. If you feel unsafe or at immediate risk of harming yourself, seek emergency help from local emergency services or the nearest emergency department.
